Being members of a large group of contracting businesses, allows us to come together to create great change in the community.

Laser Member businesses value supporting those that need a helping hand. Each year, Laser Plumbing and Electrical Members from Australia and New Zealand host a charity taskforce project as part of the company's International Conference. We take advantage of large groups of contractors and suppliers being in the one place at the same time.

Past renovation projects have included multiple schools in Fiji, Habitat for Humanity in New Zealand, The Gold Coast Youth Services and Variety the Children's Charity in Australia. By renovating operating centres, Laser makes a lasting impact on these organisations so they can focus on their core services, not the running repairs of their buildings.

As well as donating their time, Laser Plumbing & Electrical suppliers also assist by donating over $100,000 of materials to the projects each year.

In addition to the taskforce, other fundraising events are held each year. This offers personal challenges to individuals, whether it be the CEO's or receptionists. Some tackle massive hikes or ride bikes long distances. Fun and challenging activities that bring people together and help raise funds for Beyond Blue. Our industry is hit by devastating statistics surrounding mens mental health. With hundreds of thousands of dollars donated so far, we hope to continue our efforts together to help save lives.

Mother's Day Make Over

Electricians from Laser Electrical Carrum Downs and Laser Electrical Mount Evelyn celebrated Mothers Day early as they helped out Nicole MacKay for her commitment to helping children and ensuring they have access to a safe and caring environment.

The mother of 2 is also foster mum to 5 children and for over 30 years has worked with OzChild, welcoming some of our most vulnerable and at-risk children into her home. Nicole and husband Ross are extremely passionate about keeping families together and are pleased that they are able to do this with their current foster children being siblings aged from 7 to 13 years.

Led by David Gibson, the team of electricians installed energy efficient solutions designed to bring more light into the home as well as installing solar panels, enabling greater long-term cost-efficient solutions for Nicole.

In addition to the new lighting and solar panelling, ceiling fans and power points, a new switch board will also be installed as well as connecting power to a bungalow located in the back yard.

For David, this project was simply about giving back to the local community.

"Everybody is busy but, as part of the local community our goal was give back to the families who have been going above and beyond, and to help them continue to do so." said David.
